January has been a long month, but it’s nearly out of the way, which can only mean one thing; Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Whether you’ve got a date or you’re just heading out with friends, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite local restaurants for a special treat this Valentine’s…

Plus, if you book in advance or even go out the days before or after the big day, you might be able to take advantage of special offers such as 2-4-1 deals, meaning you can save money and even take a trip to the cinema too!

But that’s not all. To celebrate the day of love, here at Lace Market Studios, we’ll be offering one lucky resident the chance to win our special Valentine’s Day hamper filled with some special treats. Please visit the office to find out more and for your chance to win.

And the fun doesn’t stop after Valentine’s Day. This February, we’re also celebrating Chinese New Year, which falls on Friday 16th February.

This Chinese New Year is the year of the Dog; people born in 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, and 2018 will fall under this Chinese Zodiac sign. The Dog occupies the 11th position in the zodiac and symbolizes a loyal, kind and honest character. Those born under the Zodiac sign of the Dog always offer support and advice to others as they value friendships above all else and often become very involved in the personal lives of others which can give the impression of being nosy. However, ensuring the happiness of others is their ultimate aim. According to the Chinese calendar, the Dog is sincere, trustworthy and reliable with a strong sense of duty and a clearly defined moral compass.

If you’re in Nottingham, there’s lots to see and do in the city to celebrate Chinese New Year and the year of the Dog. From Chinese arts and crafts and gallery exhibitions, to dance and music to represent the Chinese culture. Find out more here.
